Summer Sleuthing and Sizzling Shows
Aug 05, 2019
An uplifting and emotional rock opera, an evening of mystery at the museum, and one of Broadway’s hottest hits are on the agenda for August. First, check out “In the Kingdom of the Clouds” at the Scottsdale Desert Stages Theatre through August 11. An unusual setting features a world in despair where hope and creativity are lost, and a world above—where a hero named Cirrus works to right the wrongs, restore harmony and find love for himself and all those around him.
Next, head over to ASU Gammage for what the New York Times calls "the best musical of this century." Showing through August 11, “The Book of Mormon” is a nine-time Tony Award winner and a must-see. Lastly, don’t miss “Mystery in the Museum: The Cryptic Caper” at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art on August 17. Grab your deerstalker and magnifying glass, and get ready to unleash your inner sleuth. Light bites and a cash bar will keep you fortified throughout the evening as you sift clues.Share
