Native American Heritage, Monarchs in the Desert, and ArtFest of Scottsdale

Nov 05, 2018

This month, our guests have a plethora of entertaining events from which to choose, and a few of our favorites are listed here. First, don’t miss the Native American Heritage Festival happening November 10 on the Fletcher Library Lawn. This event will feature the Veterans Day Weekend Traditional Pow Wow, along with Native American dancing, arts and crafts, and more. Bring a lawn chair or seating, as on-site seating is reserved for tribal elders. Next, pare down that holiday gift list at ArtFest of Scottsdale on November 17-18 at the Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza.

Browse the works of over 150 artists from all over the country and snag sui generis items that are sure to please even the fussiest friend or family member. Lastly, be sure to visit the Monarch Butterfly Exhibit at the Desert Botanical Garden before it ends in mid-November. These fragile creatures’ life spans are only about eight months, and their amazing migration from North America to Mexico and the return journey takes several generations to complete. Visitors are encouraged to take pictures, and a craft area for children is available outside the exhibit.
