Arizona Restaurant Week at LON’s, and Western Film Art
Sep 03, 2018
The Hollywood Western – from early oaters with Tom Mix to classic John Wayne favorites to the brash surrealism of maverick director Monte Hellman, to the spaghetti westerns and comedy westerns of the 1960s and 1970s – these films are a breed apart. Now showing at Scottsdale's Museum of the West is an exhibit that celebrates this cultural phenomenon. Honoring cowboys, Native Americans, the American West and its cultural legacies, and the budding days of the movie industry, the museum is featuring The Rennard Strickland Collection of Western Film History Exhibition.
This premier exhibit features hundreds of lobby cards and film posters from one of the world’s most prestigious and historically-recognized collections of film graphics and is on display now through September 23. Also, don’t forget that the second weekend of every month is Free Family Weekend at the Phoenix Art Museum. They offer great activities for kids of all ages, including live performances, story time, free tours, scavenger hunts, and more. Lastly, don’t miss what LON’s Executive Chef Jeremy Pacheco has cooked up for Arizona Restaurant Week on September 21. Make your reservation by calling us at (602) 955-7878.Share
